Linda Sue Whitlock

Linda Sue Whitlock, age 82, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on April 12, 2026.

Linda was born on September 19, 1943, in Fordland, Missouri, to Doyle and Georgia Daniels. She attended Central High School in Springfield, Missouri. On March 4, 1960, she married Wayne Whitlock, at Nixa Christian Church, and they shared many wonderful years together until his passing in 2016.

Linda dedicated nearly thirty years of service as a cook for Nixa Public Schools, where she cared for generations of students with her warm spirit and good cooking. She was known for her love of yellow roses and butterflies, and she enjoyed reading, with Lonesome Dove being her favorite book. Linda loved swimming and spending time at her family’s pool, especially during gatherings filled with laughter and love.

A talented cook and baker, Linda made sure no one ever left her home hungry. She loved to travel, with the beach being her favorite destination, and she was proud to have traveled the world, including memorable trips to Australia and Hawaii. Linda also enjoyed exercising and walking, staying active throughout her life.

At the age of 21, Linda accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. She faithfully attended Calvary Bible Church for 12 years.

Linda will be remembered for her warm and loving nature. She had a special way of making everyone feel comfortable, accepted, and welcome.

She is survived by her sons, Doug Whitlock and Rusty Whitlock (Cassie); her longtime companion, Wayne Henderson; her sister, Sharlene Clark (Rick); her grandchildren, Alyssa, Lauren, Deidra, Dylan, and Nate; her great-grandchildren, Hailey, Olivia, and Hayes; her special friend, Sharon Jobe; and numerous nieces, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Whitlock; her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Whitlock; her brother, Jim Daniels; and her sister, Patsy Hembree.

Linda’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, kindness, and devotion to her family and faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, with Pastor Johnny Claxton officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. A graveside service will follow at Delaware Cemetery in Nixa.
