Linda Marie McLaughlin

May 18, 1960 — Jun 22, 2026

Sparta

Linda Marie McLaughlin, age 66, of Sparta, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on June 22, 2026. She was born on May 18, 1960, in Osceola, Iowa, to Max and Rosamond Wilder.

Linda graduated from Mercer High School in Mercer, Missouri, before pursuing her calling in nursing. She earned her Registered Nurse degree in Kansas City, Missouri, and dedicated her career to caring for others. She retired as a Registered Nurse from Cox South, where she was respected for her compassion, professionalism, and servant's heart.

Although Linda had no biological children of her own, she dearly loved her husband's daughters, Desiree and Sierra, and treasured their children as her own family.

A lifelong animal lover, Linda never met a stray she couldn't help. She worked part-time at Ozark Veterinary Clinic, where her love for animals was evident to everyone who knew her. It could easily be said that she may have adopted a few too many pets over the years, but each one was deeply loved and thoroughly spoiled.

Linda was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene in Ozark, where she formed many lasting friendships. She generously volunteered as secretary to Pastor John Huen and found great joy in serving her church family. Her kindness extended to everyone she met, and she built cherished friendships through her church, her years at Cox South, and her work at the veterinary clinic.

Known for her generous spirit, Linda found genuine happiness in giving to others. Whether through thoughtful gifts, acts of kindness, or simply offering encouragement, she delighted in making people feel loved and appreciated.

Linda is survived by her beloved stepdaughter Desiree McLaughlin, her children Brianna, Nikaylee, and Tyler. stepdaughter Sierra Sowards, her children Kiera, Greyson, and Ava; her sister, Karen (Bradley) Cranor; her nephew, Brandon (Heidi) Cranor and their children, Rylee, Eden, Zion, and Zoey; her nephew, Justin Cranor and his children, Ryland and Ethan; and her niece, Shawna (John) Smay and their children, Savannah, Sydney, Jackson, and Jasper.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Rosamond Wilder.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home in Ozark, Missouri. Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
