Linda “Sis” Allen, 82, of Highlandville, Missouri, passed away September 6, 2026. She was born February 19, 1944, to John and Lena (Robinson) Combee.
Linda married Chuck “Sarge” Allen on January 16, 1971, and together they celebrated 55 years of marriage. She was a happy, caring person who loved people and had a true gift of hospitality. Linda had a servant’s heart and faithfully served her church and others throughout her life.
Linda and Chuck were members of Riverdale Baptist Church in Nixa from 2010 until the present. Linda served by cleaning and organizing the church, coordinating the cleaning ladies, and participating in the Poinsettia Memorial Ministry each year. She also enjoyed leading singing at other churches. Her faith in Jesus was central to her life, and she loved her family, her church, and old hymns. As a young woman, she played the piano in church, following the example of her mother, who played the organ at their family church.
Linda’s love of hospitality led her and Chuck to own Canna Cove Bed and Breakfast in Ridgedale, Missouri, from 2000 to 2005, where she enjoyed meeting and getting to know her guests. They also loved traveling together, taking cruises to the Caribbean and Mexico and visiting many places through Chucks’ Air Force service. Linda enjoyed gardening and took great pride in keeping her home meticulously clean and organized.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Allen; daughter, Malinda (Brian) Todd; grandchildren, Malena (Brenden) Troutt and Tanner Todd; as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Earl “Buddy” Combee, Morris “Punk” Combee, and Charles Combee; and sisters, Helen Young and Virginia “Boots” Jackson.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2026, at Riverdale Baptist Church, Nixa, Missouri followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Jamie Bilyeu officiating.
