Larry Dale Rogers, 64, of Springfield, MO passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at his home.
Larry was born on October 5, 1958 in Kansas City, MO; the son of George Thomas and Fran (Head) Rogers. A landscaper by trade, Larry mowed lawns and did other landscaping jobs for many years around the Springfield area. However, Larry had a big heart and turned a simple job like mowing the yard into a chance to brighten someone’s day by helping out, or even just by visiting, any of his elderly customers. Whether they needed something special done, or just needed help changing a lightbulb, Larry tried to be there.
His big heart extended farther than just his business, to his very family and friends. It was not uncommon for Larry to work all day, unload his trailer, and then spend an evening helping a friend move. Larry was mechanically minded and an artistic woodworker, and he used those skills to craft two beautiful beds for his daughters when they were young. Larry’s spirit of giving will live on in his friends and family.
Larry is survived by: two daughters, Amber Raeetta Brunold of Ozark, MO, and Lindsay Marie Garrett of Littleton, CO; one son, Kenneth Trey Garrett of Columbia, MO; two granddaughters, Chloe Marie White and Juliette Athena White; two sisters, Linda Andrews of Springfield, MO and Carol Caul and husband, Don, of St. Peters, MO; and one brother, Ron Rogers of Springfield, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his best friend since childhood, Andy Stark.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Graveside Celebration of Life will be held for Larry in Sparta Cemetery, Sparta, MO, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 28, 2022.
