Kimberly Jean Dick (Patterson) was born on February 14, 1960, and departed this world on May 10, 2025. She was married to Gene Dick, the love of her life, for 26 years.
Kimmy had such a capacity for love. Any person who met her immediately felt seen and embraced by her warmth. She was a welcoming and caring soul to everyone she met, always asking a person’s name and then using it forward.
She had a positive outlook on life and a quick wit that always brought humor into a situation. Whether it was a hard workday or quiet evening by the fire, laughter was always a part of it.
As a spouse, she was selfless and perfect in every way. She and Gene both would agree that they couldn’t have asked for a more perfect gift than their marriage over the past 26 years. It was obvious to everyone they loved one another dearly.
She was the kind of mom who delighted in her kids — always making it known that she was their biggest cheerleader. She had such a generous nature, and sacrificed her time, energy and money to ensure her kids were abundantly taken care of.
“Mae” was the kind of grandmother who would play with her grandkids for hours on end. She absolutely adored being with them, and they were always drawn to her playful spirit and nature.
As a sibling, she was not only a sister, but also a dear friend. She was the kind of sister who was always in her siblings’ corner, supporting them no matter what.
She was the kind of aunt who welcomed nieces and nephews to their Oklahoma home to have big summer adventures. Life-long memories were made on these trips.
She was the kind of friend who shared many laughs, while also showing empathy, kindness and care in every situation. She helped many friends through very difficult times resulting in lasting and lifelong friendships.
As a middle school teacher, she was drawn to the students who were struggling mentally and emotionally -- as she was familiar with that journey -- and offered encouragement and insight.
Through all of her roles, people were of utmost importance to her. She left this world, and us, better than she found them.
She is survived by her devoted husband Gene Dick, and their four children: Clint Arasmith and his wife, Jessica, of Springfield, Missouri, and their children Molly, Owen, Sophia and Cooper; Jami Glenn and her husband, Justin, of Springfield, Missouri, and their daughters, Lily and Ella; Casey Dick and his wife, Julie, of Golden, Colorado, and their children, Emily, William and Sarah; and Chelsea Scuderi and her husband, Jeff, of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, and their daughters, Olivia, Isabelle and Gwyneth.
She is also survived by one brother, Arden Patterson and four sisters: Donna McNeil, Debbie Tracy, Karen Sutlief and Susan Patterson, along with many nieces and nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
The family is hosting a Celebration of Life which will be held at Wire Road in Battlefield on June 7th at 11 a.m.
