Karl Edward Langwell, 91, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on August 28, 2026. He was born on March 5, 1935, in Brookline, Missouri, to Carl and Margaret Langwell.
Karl graduated from Republic High School in 1953. With perseverance and determination, he attended night school at Drury University for 10 years while working, eventually earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
Karl worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 37 years. He began as an office clerk and later became a yard dispatcher before retiring.
Karl had many hobbies and interests throughout his life. He was a beekeeper for 10 years and cared for two hives. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing, and especially enjoyed quail hunting with his bird dog, Duke. Karl and his wife, Angie, shared a love of dancing and traveling. They frequently traveled to Texas to dance with friends, enjoying waltz, ballroom, and two-step dancing. Dancing and spending time with their friends was one of their favorite things to do together.
Karl was a loving and kind man who was steady and dependable for his family. He was organized, hardworking, and always willing to fix things and lend a helping hand. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Karl married Peggy on December 31, 1955, and in their union they had one son, Steven K. Langwell. They remained married until Peggy's passing in 2004. Karl married Angie on September 8, 2008, and they shared many wonderful years together.
Karl is survived by his wife, Angie; his son, Steven K. (Cherie) Langwell; stepdaughters, Lori Dutoit, Michelle (Ronnie) Qujad, and Pam Scott; grandson, Steven D. (Brittany) Langwell; and great-grandchildren, Jace and Alyssa Langwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Margaret Langwell; his first wife, Peggy; his stepdaughter, Deborah Croxdale; and his sister, Barbara Lawrence.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Brookline Cemetery in Brookline, Missouri. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa, Missouri under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
