Karen Sue Barnes

Karen “Susie” Barnes (Bilyeu) age 71, of Springfield passed away Thursday, June 1st, 2023. She was born October 9th, 1951 the daughter Everett and Marianne Bilyeu.

Karen was a devoted Christian. She was a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church. She took part in mission trips to Africa, Argentina, Australia, and Japan. She helped out in the puppet and Awana ministries. She enjoyed going on day trips with her friends when she was still able to. She was very sociable. She liked watching mysteries and westerns. She was always ready to go out for ice cream. 

Survivors include: her son James “Jimmy” Barnes, and daughter Kelly Cave. Grandchildren Levi, Luke, Lily, and Lucy. Their families including six great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a baby born sleeping. 

Karen would want you to remember the happy times you had with her.  

“There is one thing that Alzheimer’s cannot take away, and that is love. Love is not a memory. It’s a feeling that resides in your heart and soul.” 

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
