Junior T. Cobb

March 30, 1925 — August 11, 2022

Junior Tye Cobb, age 97 of Ozark, Missouri, passed away on August 11th, 2022.  Junior was born on March 30th, 1925 in the small community of Mildred, just outside of Forsyth, Missouri to Sally (Haworth) Cobb and Charles E. Cobb.

Junior was the youngest of two brothers Johnce and Wayne. He attended school in a tiny, one-room schoolhouse in Forsyth and earned an 12th-grade education. He was just 17 years of age when he was drafted into the United States Army where he proudly served from 1943-1945. Junior fought on the front lines in World War II and earned many medals.

In October 1946, Junior met Hazel Layton. They married in March of 1947. Together, they had two children, Jerry and Vicki. Junior worked primarily as a farmer and raised Holstein cattle. He cut and baled hay and always cultivated a bountiful garden which he proudly plowed by horse until the early 80s. He also worked as a janitor for Ozark Schools and at a sawmill.

Junior is survived by his children Jerry Cobb (His wife Christy) and Vicki Layton Cobb, his grandchildren Sarah (Her husband Nathan) and Rebecca, his four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Savannah, Lauryn, and Jacob, and his great-great-granddaughter Amira.

Junior was preceded in death by his loving wife Hazel Cobb, his parents Charles and Sally Cobb, his brothers Johnce and Wayne Cobb, and his great-granddaughter Sunny Rae Melvin.

Junior Cobb will be missed greatly in the lives of his family, friends, and neighbors but we are so thankful he is in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
