John BlesiJohn Ray Blesi, age 74, of Reeds Spring, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 in his home, surrounded by family. He was born July 1, 1945 in Spring Bluff, Missouri, the son of John Henry and Helen Malinda (Busch) Blesi. John served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. On December 14, 1974, he and Linda Mae Brown were married. John retired in 2018 from Harry Cooper Supply in Springfield. John was a wonderful, loving husband and family man. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren, and always looked forward to their visits. It was important to him that the whole family was home for the holidays. Family vacations out west were very special to him. He loved tent camping, all things history, and cowboy songs by Marty Robbins. John never knew a stranger and made friends wherever he was. He was a member of Nixa First Assembly of God, where he served faithfully and honorably for 41 years. He kept his eyes toward heaven and was ready to meet his Savior. Survivors include: His wife of 44 years, Linda; three children and their spouses, Amanda and Russell Long of Newnan, Georgia, Jonathan and Christa Blesi of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Trent and Crystal Blesi of Springfield; 10 grandchildren, Arianna, Samuel, Adalyn, Annistyn, and Avonlea Long, Hayden Blesi, Phinehas, Leonard, Wilber and Trenton Blesi; seven brothers and sisters and many other relatives. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Thursday, October 17, in Nixa First Assembly with Rev. Bill Carr and Rev. Don Blansit officiating. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, with full military honors. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Wednesday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.

Linda, I'm so sorry for your loss but so thankful that you and John are such strong believers. I have many memories of you but I only have one memory of John. It was a wonderful memory. It was when you and John came to see the new home Terry & I purchased on the lake. Terry took John on the golf cart to see the lake then you and I took a ride. We shared dinner and had a wonderful visit. It was like we had been friends for along time. Your told me later that John was surprised. I don't know what he expected Terry & I to be like, but I think he was surprised for better. He had such a wonderful sense of humor. I'm sure heaven is celebrating and smiling at John's clever sayings. Love & prayers my wonderful friend. I'm here anytime you need me.
