Joe Robert Pearce

May 16, 1947 — March 20, 2024

Ozark

My father, Joe Robert Pearce walked home with the Lord on March 20, 2024 at 4:51 a.m. in his home after a long battle with Myelofibrosis that finally ended with him in my arms and by his side.

He is now joined with his mother and father, Alice (Archer) and Merrell Pearce; and siblings, Anita Jane, Leland, Clyde, Jerry, and Sue (Pearce) Welch.

Dad is survived by his remaining brother and sister-in-law, Fritz and Wanda Pearce and Aunt Blanch Lakey. He is lovingly missed by myself, Theresa Lynn (Pearce) Scurlock and my sister Rhonda Sue (Pearce) Smith. He is a Grandpa to Morgan Curtman, Robert Smith, Kyle Stroup and Trey Sparks. Dad has nine great grandchildren: Kylee, Nehemiah, Amelia, Whitley, Emmett, Aubrey, Gracie, Saint, and Paisley; and nieces: Tammy, Debbie, Missy, Alice, Angie, and Alexis and their families.

Dad was born in Seymour Missouri May 16th, 1947 and was raised in Goodhope. He enlisted in the United States Army in May 1965 at 17 years old and was honorably discharged in September 1969. He served two tours in Vietnam. Dad moved to Ozark, Missouri in the late 1970’s and was employed by Fasco Industries for 27 years until retiring in 2002.

Dad was a unique person whom I am proud to call my father. We enjoyed listening to good old fashion country music. His beer of choice was Coors Light, Winston cigarettes, and Wintergreen Wolf long-cut chew. My father was a good man to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many other family members and friends including Derrick Tannyhill. He is an amazing Dad whom I will never forget. I will constantly keep him forever in my heart. Dad was many things to many people - but to me he was and is my wonderful DAD - the best person whom I am privileged to have and still know. We all love and miss you, Dad.

Rest easy Soldier, your job is done. You protected and defended your post well in this life. I love you and will see you again.

Your Faithful Daughter, Theresa.

Cremation rites were accorded by Adams Crematory and arrangements were under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
