Naioma Joan Willoughby passed away in her home January 30, 2026 surrounded by love. She was born May 30, 1930 in St. Luke, Missouri to her parents ; Lola Shook and Russell Burchfield. She was a bookkeeper before she married Wesley Elmo (Bud) Willoughby on April 21, 1951. Joan loved to quilt, cook and garden with her husband. She attended the Finley River Cowboy Church. Joan spent a lot of time caring for her in-laws as they began to need extra help.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bud, a brother Johnny Burchfield and a sister Betty Hawk.

She is survived by her son Dale Willoughby (Connie Hall), her daughter Carolyn Willoughby (Terry Jim Hedgpeth) and a host of neighbors and friends of the family.

The family wants to thank the Cox In Home Care Team and the Hospice Team for their help and care while Joan was at home. There are many fond memories of Joan.

She always let you know what she was thinking and she was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Everyone that knew her loved her.

Joan's funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow at Delaware Cemetery, Nixa.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. immediately before the funeral at the funeral home.
