Knew JJ from our working days at the plant. JJ was the voice of our telephone system. For years after she switched jobs her voice greeted us when you dialed into the plant. Almost every Saturday in summer wife and I would stop by JJ's booth at the Nixa Farmer's Market and buy some fruit pies and other stuff. In January she would organize a run to Morgan County Seed with the Christian County Master Gardeners to stock up on growing supplies. A fun all-day road trip. And she was a big part of me planting a large garlic patch - so I could sell garlic at the Nixa Farmer's market. Talked me into it. JJ will be missed.

J.J. was a beautiful soul. I had the pleasure of being a classmate from grade school through high school. She was the best friend that you could ever hope to have in your life. She could bring sunshine to your darkest day and bring a smile to your heart. I loved her for all the kindness and joy she brought to me. RIP, my dear, until we meet again one day.

Whenever I called or met up with her, J.J. would always say, "How are you, my dear?" emphasizing the "are." She meant it so sincerely and truly wanted to know what was going on in my life. She was one of my gardening mentors, with good advice and a plant to share. It's hard to accept we won't find her in her beloved berry patch.
