Jay Al-Roubaie

Jassim Mohammed Al-Roubaie "Jay", age 78, of Nixa, Missouri, passed way in his home surrounded by his children on May 18, 2024.  He was born in Baghdad, Iraq, on July 1, 1945, the son of Mohammed Al-Roubaie and Khassan Karim.  He traveled the world before moving to the United States in the 1960's.  Living in Holland had been his favorite.  

Jay enjoyed cooking and enjoying meals with his family.  He was a passionate father and his love for family meant so much to Jay.

As a restaurant owner Jay owned several local restaurants including Al-Roubaie's and Sophia's.  Hobbies included playing Backgammon, repairing cameras, working on cars, and collecting fine china.  

Survivors include:  His three children, Sarah Al-Roubaie of Springfield, Jennah Al-Roubaie of Highlandville, and Naseeph Al-Roubaie of Spanaway, Washington; grandchildren, Rayne and River; and brothers and sisters, living throughout the world.  

Viewing and visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial at Rosedale Cemetery, Nixa will follow.
