James Elden Rogers

December 24, 1942 — November 14, 2021

James Elden Rogers was born December 24, 1942 and entered the kingdom of heaven on November 14, 2021.

He was the son of Elden and Violet Rogers and grew up in the Springfield area. He graduated from Central High school and soon after met the love of his life, Karen Mimi Rogers. They got married on February 12,1962 and together they raised five children.

During his formidable years James developed a passion for working with his hands. He would later use this skill in building a successful construction business. After sustaining a catastrophic spinal injury that left him confined to a wheelchair, James was unable to continue his construction business. He continued to provide for his family by operating a home medical and oxygen supply.

James unwavering faith led him to serve as a pastor and deacon, and he also led a bus ministry for many years at Baptist Temple in Springfield, Missouri.

He taught his children to work hard, follow the Lord and always love one another. James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his son Elden.

He is survived by four daughters, Delanah Gebhart (Tallahassee Florida) Rachel Hosford, and Terri Rogers both of Springfield Missouri and Katy Rogers of Bolivar Missouri and two grandchildren Rebecca Hosford and Joseph Hosford of Springfield Missouri.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 4:00 P.M., Monday, December 6, 2021 at Brookline Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Randall Moody officiating.
