James Joseph Roberts

James Joseph “Joe” Roberts, age 76 of Nixa, passed away July 26, 2021. He was born July 26, 1945 in Merced, California, the son of Marion “Bud” Edgar and Valerie (Oswald) Roberts. Joe was a dedicated family man, a lifetime entrepreneur, a race enthusiast, and animal lover. As a lifelong race enthusiast, he built and raced many custom race cars with his son Rick. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Joe passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Survivors include: his son, Rick Roberts and wife Tonyea of Nixa; grandchildren, Richard Roberts of Nixa and Andria Roberts and husband Chris Flesher of Nixa; great grandchildren, Liam and Remy Flesher and Laura Mae, Willow Renee, Ida Sue Roberts, all of Nixa; his sister, Marion Mills of San Jose, California; his niece, Julie Mills and husband Ken LeDeit of San Jose, California; and great nephew and niece, Henry and Helena LeDeit of San Jose, California. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and a great granddaughter, Ruby Monroe Roberts. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 16, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A graveside service with full military honors will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. A visitation will be from 10 -11 A.M., Monday, August 16, 2021 immediately before the funeral service at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
