Inge Katharine Tuttle passed away peacefully at her home on May 18, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was two days shy of her 91st birthday.
Inge was born in Herrnlauersitz, Germany and immigrated to the United States with her children in the 1960s. Settling in Missouri, Inge worked as a single mother to support her three young children. She met the love of her life, William “Bill” Tuttle who helped raise her children as his own. They were married in late 1972 and were together for 51 years until Bill’s death in December 2024.
Inge had many hobbies and was an accomplished seamstress, embroiderer, and quilter. Her other hobbies included gardening, stained glass, painting, and making porcelain and ceramics. She had a keen eye for color and design. In addition to her creative endeavors, Inge raised purebred Saanen goats that she showed at state fairs in Missouri and Oklahoma, winning several championships.
In retirement, Bill and Inge enjoyed traveling and made several extended trips back to Germany. They also traveled widely in the United States and made trips to Canada and Mexico, often traveling with family and grandchildren.
Inge will be remembered by many as an opinionated and determined individual who may have been short in stature but made up for it with her spirit.
Inge was preceded in death by her parents, Wilhelm and Katharine “Luise” Hinz, and her siblings, Else, Elisabeth, Wilhelm “Willi,” and Helga.
She is survived by her sister Waltraud Meckel; her children and their spouses, Pam and Tony Todd, Rick Fish, Wayne Fish, Cherrie Fish; her grandchildren and their spouses, Becky Todd and Edward Bross, Ben Todd and Sara Harrison, Joe and Casey Todd, Tiffany and Jesus Perches, Zach and Deidre Fish, and Leshia Fish and Tony Castillo; and her great grandchildren, Jesus “Tre” Perches, Gabe Fish, Canyon Fish, Hudson Fish, and Rory Castillo.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Integrity Hospice team, especially Joyce, Lee, Jessica, Allison, Sarah, and Lanay who cared for Inge with kindness and compassion.
