Helen Turpin

Helen Marie Turpin, age 86 of Nixa, passed away on March 28, 2026. She was born on May 30, 1939 in Cassville, the daughter of Harvey Lee and Annie Marie (Lassiter) Boggess.

As a young child, she would travel with her parents out to Colorado where they would participate in the Broom Straw Harvest. The kids would harvest the broom straw, and this is where they coined the phrase "Love you bunches".

Helen was united in marriage to George Turpin on February 23, 1956.

They moved to the Nixa area in 1969 and started their business, Turpin Electric in 1972. They also had Turpin mobile home park in Nixa until 1995. She and George were charter members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Nixa.

Survivors include her son, George Lynn Turpin; her daughters, Caveta Price (Rick), Debra Murphy (Dean), and Melissa Turpin (Paul Mudd); her grandchildren, Heath Turpin (Emily), Timothy Lee Hendrix (Erica), Andrea Riley (Travis), Cathy Bolin, Sean Lowry (Alyssa), Ashley Goodall, Jamie Bolin (Tiny), and bonus granddaughter, Tiffany Amass (Brian); her great grandchildren, Koby, Kenzie, Hunter, Luke, Jake, Evie, Haukin, Ayson, Clara, Otto, Finley, and Lilly; a sister, Betty Hilburn; and a loving dog Daisey.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, George on September 3, 2005; her brother, Bill Boggess; and sisters, Pearlene Hilburn, Geneva Schweizer, Maxine Reeves, Charlotte O'Neil, and Hazel Bacon. 

Helen will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and the many lives she changed. She was a big fan of Charlie Kirk. Helen will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Nathan Beal and Steven Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at Delaware Cemetery, Nixa. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. immediately before the funeral at the funeral home.
