Geraldine "Jerri" Satterfield

September 22, 1943 — February 15, 2024

Nixa, Missouri

Geraldine (Jerri) O’Brien Satterfield was born on September 22, 1943, in Great Bend, Kansas to Alvin Walter and Alpha Mae (Jenkins) O’Brien. She passed from this life on February 15, 2024.

Jerri was raised by parents who made their living working in the oilfields of Kansas, and the family relocated several times. She attended schools in Anthony, Claflin, Chase, Ellinwood, St. John, and Hoisington. She graduated from high school as an honor student in Claflin, Kansas.

Jerri’s family attended the Assembly of God Church in Hoisington, Kansas where she met David Satterfield. The couple engaged in the fall of 1961 and married on April 14, 1962, in Hoisington. At the time of their marriage, she was a nurse’s aide at the local hospital.

Jerri was faithful to serve with her husband in ministry for 57 years. She played an integral role in Women’s Ministries, Children’s Sunday School & Missionettes, Prayer Ministry, and Missions. The couple pastored in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas and served as the Youth and Christian Education Director for the Kansas District.

Jerri was best known as Nana. As a role model to her family, she established a legacy of faithfulness and daily worship. Nana had a prayer closet before prayer closets were popular; she devoted her life to interceding on behalf of others. She was a constant source of warmth and compassion. Seeing her smile and hearing her words of encouragement left an impact on all she met, and her family is at peace knowing she is spending eternity with her creator.

Jerri was preceded in death by her grandparents Reed and Lula (O’Brien) Killion; parents Alvin Walter (AW) O’Brien (2003) and Alpha Mae (Jenkins) O’Brien (1983); and sister Lois Marie O’Brien Cosplich, (1997).

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Clark Chapel, James River Church, Ozark, Missouri, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A private burial will precede the funeral in McConnell-Bledsoe Cemetery, Nixa, Missouri.
