George R. Perkin

   George Perkin, age 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 1:27 p.m. on Saturday the 23rd.  George passed at home in his wife’s arms. George was born on September 26, 1947, in Neosho to Ronald and Barbara (Bullard) Perkin.

   George and Linda were married 44 years. George was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother and uncle.  George is also survived by 3 daughters, Jennifer Wellesley and husband, Steve, of Neosho; Tracy Lett and husband, Brad, of Neosho; and Heather Cheek and husband, Frank, of Nixa;  17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Perkin and his wife, Susan, and one sister, Laura Hartronft and husband, Karl; and many in-laws, nephews, and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one granddaughter,  Allison Lett. 

    George was in the National Guard, June of 1965 to 1969. George retired from Lucent Technologies after 35 years. He then worked at XNA Airport for 5 years and then for the United States Postal Service in Nixa for 5 years.

    George was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Nixa, MO, where he loved to serve and have sweet fellowship with many friends.  

    Visitation will be held at Aldersgate Methodist Church on Thursday, September 28th at 10:00 am with the memorial service to follow at 11:00 am.  Cremation was under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
