Elvin Elwood, age 88 of Ozark, passed away April 6, 2023 after a battle with kidney disease. He was born September 1, 1934 in Dunlap, Iowa, the son of Kenneth Edward and Anna Alice (Smith) Elwood.
On May 21, 1954 Elvin married Betty Jean Rethamel. Betty Jean preceded Elvin in death in 2005.
Mr. Elwood served his country in the U. S. Army. After serving in the armed forces, he worked at Fasco until his retirement. Mr. Elwood was a Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed woodworking and making crafts. Mr. Elwood attended King’s Ozark Church. He took pride in his community, loved attending church and enjoyed spending time with family. Mr. Elwood was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Survivors include: his children, Ann Custer of Ozark and Kevin Elwood and fiancé Kimm Kennon of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Stephanie Garcia and husband Michael of Texas and Josiah Custer and fiancé Erika Bradley of Ozark; and his siblings, Charles and Frankie Elwood of Cabool and Susan Jarrett of Cabool.
Elvin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, and his brothers, Edgar, Bob and Dwight.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. A private family graveside will be held at Hopedale Cemetery, with Chaplain Don Currence officiating.
