Edna Yvonne Huff

Edna Yvonne Huff, age 89, of Sparta, was born December 28, 1936, in Texas, the daughter of George Edward Hamilton and Sarah Edna (Denning) Hamilton.

She and Jerry Huff met while he was stationed at Reese Air Force Base in Texas, After they were married on March 15, 1956, they came to live in Missouri. Together they had four children, Andrew, Vanessa, Patricia, and Lisa. Jerry preceded her in death in 2020. Two children also preceded Yvonne in death, Andrew in 2006, and Vanessa in 2025.

Survivors include: Vanessa's husband Kevin Swearengin and their children, Heather and Jared; Patricia and her husband Rick Smith and their children, Ryan and Adam; Lisa Huff and her son Colton; and great-grancchildren.

Yvonne was a devoted Christian and a member of Springhill Baptist Church. She had served as a Sunday School teacher and song leader for many years.

She spent many summers canning what Jerry brought to her. She always had jelly to share with her family. Camping was the family vacation and Yvonne cooked many meals on an open fire in her cast iron skillets.

She enjoyed cooking and baking for the holidays. As she grew older the kitchen was full of people and love helping with the meals.

She loved her family and always was able to help with grandchildren. She enjoyed watching game shows and crafting.

A graveside funeral will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 30, at Linden Cemetery, Sparta, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Oren Alcorn officiating.
