"Eddie" Charles E. Maples

“Eddie” Charles Edwin Maples, 87, of Nixa, MO left us on Wednesday, May 12th, 2022. Eddie left his wife, Betty Maples, of 67 years behind along with son, Chris Maples, wife Susan Maples of Schell City, MO. One sister, Linda Gamble of Yuma, AZ. One brother, Larry Maples, of Yuma, AZ. Three granddaughters, Holly Stevens, husband Zac Stevens of Nixa, MO, Lexie Spivey, husband Jonathan Spivey of Arkansas, and Kiley Chastain. Step grandson, Phil Reed and wife Chelsey Reed of Cottonwood, MN. Several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.  Nieces, nephews, cousins and so many friends. Eddie taught 6^th grade at Walt Disney Elementary. Then he pursued an interest in cable TV and started the first cable TV company for the Nixa/Ozark area. Eddie was an active member of several organizations including Christian County Democratic Party, the University of Missouri Extension Council of Christian County, the Ozark Mountain Gem & Mineral Society, and the Christian County Planning & Zoning Department. In all honesty, he was involved in so many clubs, parties, and councils that we could fill pages worth as he was generous of his time & enjoyed involvement in the community that he lived his entire life. His hobbies included ranching, breakfast at the NLA Café, vacationing out West to hunt for rocks, sucker fish grabbing & gigging and sharing his catch with family & friends frying fish on the gravel bar. Eddie was an inspiration to all who knew him and was always there to brighten the lives of others.

Preceding him in death was his parents, Victor Maples and Fern Young Maples, son, Carey Maples and wife Denise Maples.

In lieu  of flowers the family asks that contributions to be made to the Edythe West Scholarship Fund at Drury University in care of Adam’s Funeral Home Nixa, MO.

Cremation rites have been entrusted to Adams Crematory. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
