Dorothy Woods

Dorothy Kay Woods, 60, of Springfield passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2021 at Cox South Medical Center. Dorothy was born on June 26, 1961 in Kansas City, Missouri: the daughter of Woodrow and Kathleen (Boone) Henderson. She is survived by: one son, James Woods; one daughter, Amanda Woods; three grandchildren, DJ, JJ, and Joshua; and her ex-husband, Roy Woods. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her son Joshua; her sister, Thelma; and her best friend, John. Dorothy was a nurse for over a decade and loved every minute of it. She also loved to crochet and watch her Kansas City Chiefs. However, most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren. Cremation Rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at Noon on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the American Legion in Springfield. Dorothy was a kind soul and loved God. Her memorial date will be Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 12pm at the American Legion, 2350 North Clifton Ave., Springfield.
