Dorothy Jean Long

Dorothy Jean Long, 80, of Nixa passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at her home. Dorothy was born on June 27, 1940 in Galena, MO; the daughter of Bill Sikes and Erma (Crabb) Gillihan. Dorothy was known by those in her life as strong-willed sweetheart who enjoyed cooking, baking, painting, and reading her Bible. On April 24, 2017 she was baptized and became a believer in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband, Ken Long; two daughters, Joy Hill of Tipton and Mindy Williams and her husband and son of Wichita, KS; her grandson Nicholas Hill along with his wife and children of Blue Springs; and the two children of her late grandson, Dylan Hill, who preceded in her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents. A Funeral will be held for Dorothy at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa. Burial will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield at 1:00 P.M. Memorials in honor of Dorothy may be made to the family.
