Dennis Wood

Dennis Leroy Wood, age 77, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away on July 23, 2026. He was born on February 3, 1949, in Tuscola, Illinois, to Wilfred and Gladys Wood. Dennis graduated from Sedalia High School in 1969 and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He married Karen Wood on March 21, 1981.

Dennis was a quiet and kind man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and, most of all, spending time with his wife. Together, Dennis and Karen enjoyed visiting the shooting range in Amarillo, Texas, and dancing the two-step. They also enjoyed competing together on a trivia league team, where they were frequent winners. Dennis and Karen enjoyed visiting Las Vegas together, where Dennis especially loved playing the slot machines.

Dennis will be remembered for his gentle nature, kind heart, and the many happy memories he made with Karen and those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Wood; sister, Pam (Pat) Beard; brother, Tyrone Wood; and son, Todd Haskell. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Gladys Wood.

Dennis will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

A committal service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri. Under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark with full military honors.
