Della M. Calhoun

Della M. Calhoun, age 79, of Nixa, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014, in her home. She was born June 22, 1934, in Wisconsin, to__. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in business. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years in banking, and owned a few businesses as well. She was a hard worker, caring and compassionate. She enjoyed helping others. Della loved music and sang in the Sweet Adeline's Choir for many years, and her choir won the state championship a few times. She loved her family and her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. Della is survived by her son Ezra, and his wife Cathy, of Nixa; a sister Ramona Badder, of Wisconsin; grandchildren Alyshea Neilson and husband Scott, of Ozark, Heather Schultz, of Nixa; and great grandchildren Tristan and Keinne Neilson, of Ozark. Della is preceded in death by her parents; first husband Ezra J. Hibble, second husband Audley Calhoun; siblings Marlene Holmes, Glen Schultz, Duff Schultz, Everett Schultz, Fern Schultz, and Lawrence Schultz. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, May 5, 2014, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rosedale Memorial Gardens, Nixa.
