David Earl Bishop

David Earl Bishop, 55, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on August 12, 2026, at his home. He was born on June 13, 1971, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Earl and Dorothy Bishop.

As a child, Dave moved with his family to North Fort Myers, Florida, where he grew up and graduated from high school. He attended the University of Kentucky, where he played college football, and later earned double bachelor’s degrees in criminology and business from the University of South Florida.

Dave began his career with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Myers before moving into management. It was while working at Edison Community College that he met the love of his life, Brandy. They fell in love and were married on December 27, 2003. They later moved to the Springfield, Missouri, area, where Dave worked in facilities and hospitality management.

Dave was an amazing husband and father to his two daughters, Collyn and Bryn. He was their biggest supporter and always showed up. He never missed an event and was their go-to person for anything they needed. Dave seemed to know everyone and could always find an answer—or someone who had one.

Dave was madly in love with Brandy and was a supportive, kind, and caring husband. His family was the center of his world, and the love and dedication he gave them will be deeply missed.

Dave is survived by his wife, Brandy; daughters, Collyn Riley (Noah Clarke) and Bryn Bishop; sister Vicky Tatlock (Tommy) as well as many friends from all over.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Diane Degeneres.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa with a celebration of life service to begin at 12:00 p.m.
