Daniel O’Neal McMaster, age 82 of Ozark, Missouri, passed away at Cox South Hospital on Friday, October 3, 2025. He was born on March 12, 1943, in Wynne, Arkansas, to Willie and Reba (Clements) McMaster.
He served his country in the U.S. Army.
In September of 1968, he moved to DeKalb, Illinois, where he met the love of his life, Carol Thompson, who was attending Aurora College at the time. The two were married on July 25, 1970, and shared 55 wonderful years together.
He worked for General Motors in Chicago and later relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he continued his career with Geneva Motors as a dedicated factory worker. His strong work ethic and dependable nature earned him the respect of his colleagues and friends.
Daniel and Carol were blessed with two sons, Brett McMaster, who lives in San Diego, California, and Timothy McMaster, who preceded his father in death at the age of 35. Daniel is also survived by his brothers Jerry McMaster, David McMaster, and Tommy McMaster, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ozark, where he found joy and strength in his faith.
He loved country music - the way it was years ago.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Ozark on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Burden.
A private burial will take place at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Ozark.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Ozark on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by military honors including a flag presentation to his widow Carol and the playing of "Taps".
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, officiated by Dr. Phillip Burden.
A private burial will take place at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
