Daniel Keith Knudson

Daniel Keith Knudson, age 86, of Nixa passed away on June 24, 2022, in Kansas City, Missouri.

 

Daniel was born on August 14, 1935, in Dawson, North Dakota to the late Newton E. Knudson and Mary E. Maltby. The family later relocated to Carlinville, Illinois.  

 

Daniel bravely and proudly served his country during the Korean War. Daniel was a United States Marine, serving as a Corporal and a helicopter specialist. While in the marines, Daniel met Evelyn Cook. They were married on May 8, 1954.

 

After his time in the service, Daniel successfully ran many businesses. He ran a filling station with his brother, Jim, and he was also an electrician who owned and operated K&S Hardware. After moving to Branson West, Missouri, Dan and Evelyn owned and operated Evelyn’s daycare for nearly two decades.

 

Dan loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He had a love for dogs and always enjoyed their companionship.

 

Daniel was preceded by his parents, four brothers John, Ralph, Gerald “Bud”, and Jim. On March 18, 2011, his wife, Evelyn, passed away. He is survived by his daughter Judy, sons, John and Jerry; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Richard, and two sisters, Doris and Mary Ann.  

 

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday July 1, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home, in Nixa, Missouri. Daniel will be laid to rest at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
