Cora Fern Quesenberry

August 27, 1921 — January 2, 2011

Cora Fern McClary Quesenberry, of Ozark, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011. She was born on August 27th, 1921 in Hannah, Missouri. She was the sixth of eight children that were born to Charles and Martha McClary. There were also three children that died in infancy. Life was not easy for her growing up as a child and young adult of the depression but one thing that she was always taught was a total reliance upon God. Cora accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at the age of 14 and was baptized in the Rioudoux River. She graduated high school and attended Southwest Baptist College for a semester. She married Chester Emery Quesenberry on July 20, 1940, and to the union seven children were born. They built a good life together that centered around their children and grandchildren. She was an excellent coach"s wife and always had extra food for whoever would show up at her house. She told us several different times about the 28 shirts that she would iron every week for her husband and three sons not to mention what she did for her daughters. As her children, we owe her so very much. She taught us to work hard, to take pride in what we do, to always do our very best, but most importantly, she took us to church. She has seven children and as a direct result of her guidance, all seven of her children are Christians. Her life was a testimony to hard work and perseverance and as the years rolled on she was confined to a walker but still went to the beauty shop and Sunday School and church as often as she could and was told what an inspiration she was to so many people, Now she is walking the streets of gold without pain and suffering. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Martha McClary, three sisters Edith, Ollie, and Mary, two brothers Raymond and Edgar, a great grandson Zachary Helms, and her husband of 56 years Chester Emery. She is survived by her seven children; Barbara and Art Helms of Crocker, MO, Karen and Claude Massie of Halfway, MO, Roger and Earla Quesenberry of Sugar Creek, MO, Rhonda and Roger Langendoerfer of Washington, MO, Jim and Carrie Quesenberry of Springfield, MO, Chuck and Becky Quesenberry of Lake Lotawana, MO, and Jan and Robert Caskey of Ozark, MO. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 30 great- grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by dozens of nieces and nephews as well as countless friends. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 5, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will be at 3:30 PM Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery, Laquey, MO.
