Connie Lee Shelton, age 78, of Ozark, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022. He was born May 26, 1944, the son of Walter Lee “Connie” and Evelyn Bernice (Wisner) Shelton. He was a 1962 graduate of Ozark High School. Connie joined the Naval Reserves while in High School and served his country in the U. S. Airforce for six years, stationed in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He worked in refrigeration maintenance for the Titan Missile System. While in Jacksonville, he met and married Elizabeth Ann Kirby on June 1, 1963.
Connie pastored churches in Fordland and Sparta after returning to Missouri, and later in Louisiana. He received a bachelor’s degree from Central Bible College in Conway, Arkansas.
Upon moving to Louisiana, he continued his education and worked in commercial construction, traveling to several states. Connie returned to Missouri in 1987. He owned a construction business, and later a woodworking business.
Survivors include: His wife, Elizabeth; five children all of the Springfield area, Michael Shawn Shelton, Leanne Kathleen Shelton, Evelyn Eileen Shelton and wife Natalie, Seth Ephraim Shelton and wife Amy, and Simeon Joshua Shelton and wife Bobbie Jo; grandchildren, Cameron and wife Kayla, Triston, Olivia, Sarah, James and Jeffrey; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Grayson; many cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Melton.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 18, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Thursday until service time in the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in McCoy Cemetery, Ozark.
The family requests memorial donations to Haven Home Health and Hospice, who took such good care of Connie during his illness.
