Commodore Eugene Stewart

Commodore Eugene Stewart, age 82, of Spokane, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011. He was born January 1, 1929 in Spokane, the son of Carl and Gladys (Rantz) Stewart. He graduated from Spokane High School. Commodore loved the Spokane Community and the many friends he had there. He retired from Yellow Freight Systems, and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed his horses, and was a member of the Highlandville Saddle Club. He was a member of Solomon Lodge #271 in Springfield, and was a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Joplin. Survivors include five children: Stan Stewart and wife Carolyn, Fenton, Missouri, Gary L. Stewart and Michael D. Stewart, both of Springfield, Ronda Skinner and husband Kurt, Arnold, Missouri, and Cathy S. Stewart, Springfield. Five grandchildren: Ryan Stewart, Ramsey Stewart, Raeanna Skinner, Karalyn Skinner, and Katelynn Stewart. Two brothers: J.R. Stewart, and Stan Stewart. One sister: Dorothy Petrini; nieces and nephews, and four young friends he thought so much of, Bryce, Brandi, Brent and Zac. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 27, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will be in Spokane Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 "� 7:00 PM Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to CTM Serenity Horse Rescue in care of the funeral home.
