Clay Dane Branum, age 63, of Bruner, passed away on May 10, 2025. He was born on January 10, 1962, in Ontario, California, to Robert Lewis and Grace Hazel (Corbett) Branum.

Clay proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and dedicated part of his life as a firefighter. Following his military service, he made significant contributions to the construction industry as a contractor and builder. Clay had a passion for music, often writing songs that reflected his love for creativity. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and horses, along with fishing and the excitement of gambling. His fondness for animals was a defining aspect of his character.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Branum; two sons, Justin Branum and Nicholas Branum, who is married to Holly; and three cherished grandchildren, Blane, Hailie, and Hannah Branum. Clay also leaves behind a brother, Roger Branum, and his wife Carolyn; two nephews, Ryan Branum and his wife Tiffany, and Bobby Branum and his wife Jennifer, along with their children; and a niece, Katie Morton, who has daughters Clemmie and Gracie. In addition, he is survived by his parents-in-law, Bill and Erma Yancey, and his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Ronda Hood.

Clay was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lorna Wilmershire, and a nephew, Chris Morton.

A private family service, with full military honors, will be conducted at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Dr. Wade Bridges officiating. A celebration of Clay’s life for family and friends will take place at a later date.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Adams Crematory, and arrangements are entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.

Clay's spirit and love will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
