Cindy Louise Cowles, age 63, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026. She was born on October 18, 1962, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, to William and Ruth Ann Hancock.

Cindy was the kind of person who held everything together. She was known for always “having plans for plans,” making sure that no detail was overlooked and that everyone around her was cared for. Her love and dedication were especially evident in the way she cared for her family—stepping in to support her mother after her father’s passing and always putting others before herself.

She shared a beautiful love story with her husband, Kurt Cowles. Married for 40 years, theirs was a true “love at first sight,” a bond that remained strong and steady throughout their lives together.

Cindy found great joy in life’s simple, meaningful pleasures. She loved her garden and took pride in providing for her family—there was always plenty of food, and no one who came to her home ever went hungry. She adored butterflies, finding in them a quiet beauty that reflected her own gentle spirit.

Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren, whom she cherished and spoiled with affection and care. She created a home filled with warmth, comfort, and laughter.

Cindy also had a gift for music. She sang in her high school choir and continued sharing her lovely voice in her church choir, lifting others with her song and faith.

Cindy is survived by her husband Kurt Cowles; daughter Ginny Crapps; grandchildren Aalyiah, Jasmine, David, Bree, Cheyenne, Madilyn, Rose and Camille; her mother Ruth Ann Hancock; and her brother Billy Wayne Hancock.

Cindy is preceded in death by her father William, son Charlie Crapps, and grandson Devon William.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a visitation to follow until 6:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, and cremations rites are accorded by Adams Funeral Home.
