Christian Henri Mast

Christian Henri Mast, 84, of Nixa, Missouri, was born on May 26, 1941, and passed away on September 22, 2025.

Christian served proudly in the United States Air Force before beginning a career that included administrative duties with Seaboard and Western Airline in Frankfurt, Germany, work in computer operations in the Pikes Peak area, and later as a Personal Banking Officer. He was a graduate of Midwest Business College, completed courses sponsored by the American Institute of Banking, and continued his education at El Paso Community College.

In 1964, Christian married Cheryl (Karabensh) Almen. Together they were blessed with two sons, Mike in May of 1972 and Brian, born in December 1974. They later divorced.

Christian shared 28 years of marriage with his wife, Diane Mast, who preceded him in death. Their life together was filled with love, family, and cherished memories that remained close to his heart throughout his life. On December 12, 2012, he was blessed to find love again and married Peggy Sturtz, with whom he shared many wonderful years.

A devoted member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Nixa, Christian served on the Board of Directors and as an Elder. He spoke several languages, had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed sharing his wisdom and guidance with family and friends. His hobbies included camping, traveling the U.S. coast with Peggy, collecting Pepsi memorabilia, and working puzzles with Peggy. He especially loved James Bond movies and had a vast knowledge of planes, trains, and automobiles.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Benjamin and Jeannine (Cosson) Mast, his wife, Diane Mast; and his son, Brian Mast.

Christian is survived by his wife, Peggy Mast; son Mike (Angie) Mast; grandchildren Christian (Brittnee) Mast and Madeline Mast; and great-grandchild Weslee Mast; stepchildren Gail (Arthur) Herbert, Terry (John) Hund, Vickie (John) Stallbaumer, and Jimmie (Reginia) O’Dell.

His legacy lives on in the lives of those he touched, and his memory will be forever in their hearts.

 A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2025, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Nixa, Missouri with Rev. Jarod Koenig officiating. Visitation will precede the service at 10:00 a.m. A committal service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado with full military honors.  Funeral services are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
