Charles Hall

September 12, 1944 — December 7, 2023

Ozark

Charles Hall, 79, passed away in his home south of Ozark, Missouri on December 7, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Born September 12, 1944, to Gladys and Hannen Hall, Charles lived the majority of his life on his family’s homestead south of Ozark overlooking the Mark Twain National Forest. His childhood was filled with time on their farm, hunting, fishing, and playing in the cold waters of Bull Creek with his older siblings Cathleen, Albert, Bill, Bob, and Mary.

Charles met Karen in 1964 and they soon married in '65 and had four children - Johny, Charley Jr., Tammy, and Tim Hall who they also raised on the family homestead.

He worked 22 years at Tindle Feed until they closed and then Crescent Feed Company until his retirement in 2007. Charles prided himself on his hard work and never missed a single day of work in his first 15 years at Tindle Feed.

Charles has always enjoyed local sports and took a keen interest in his kid’s ball games. Tindle Feed, located right next door to Drury University, often gave employees tickets to Drury basketball games which sparked his affinity for their basketball programs where he continued to be a booster for life.

His retirement and final years have been dynamic, filled with cattle ranching and attending local high school and college (men’s and women’s) basketball or football games nearly every night of the week. He rarely missed a Drury Lady Panthers home game and away games were enjoyed via radio. You could often catch a glimpse of his long white beard in the stands on the evening news.

Charles is survived by his four children, Johny, Charles Jr., Tammy, and Timothy; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

Charles was the last of his siblings to pass.

Per his wishes, graveside services will be held at Old Boston Cemetery in Oldfield, Missouri off T Highway at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 15, 2023, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Reverend Gary Jennings officiating.  He will be laid to rest by his father and uncle.

Donations in his memory can be made to the Drury Panthers Fund for Athletic Excellence.
