Charlene Aleshire, age 91, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on December 28, 1933, in Ozark, Missouri, to Ward and Edna (Ellen) Shelton.
Charlene grew up in Ozark, where she attended Ozark High School. A spirited cheerleader, she graduated in May of 1951. Shortly after, in October 1951, she married the love of her life, Bill Aleshire, who preceded her in death on September 20, 2012.
A woman of faith, Charlene was a devoted member of Fremont Hills Baptist Church until her passing. She dedicated many years to her professional life, working at Rain Sisters restaurant in Nixa for five years before transitioning to Fasco Industries in Ozark for ten years. After retiring, Charlene, who clearly enjoyed staying busy, continued to work for another ten years at Dollar General, where she undoubtedly brought a smile to many customers' faces.
Charlene will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her commitment to her faith, and her dedication to her family and community.
Charlene is survived by her two loving daughters, Ronna Hicklin and her husband Art, of Nixa, and Debbie Aleshire of Ozark. She also leaves behind her sister, Mary Noon of Ozark; nieces Lynda Chaffin and her husband Rick, of Ozark, Jayma and Regina of Oklahoma, and Lee Ann Westerman and her husband Jim, of Tucson, Arizona. She is also survived by two great-nephews, Joel Chaffin and his wife Amanda, and Cory Chaffin, all of Ozark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Edna Shelton; her beloved husband, Bill Aleshire; her brother, Arthur Shelton; her sister, Elderene Montgomery; nephew David Noon; a great-nephew, Clayton Noon; and her brother-in-law, Gail Noon.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A graveside service and burial will follow at 2:00 PM in Glenn Cemetery, Nixa.
