Cecilia "Punk" Garland

Cecilia Lynn "Punk" Garland, age 64, of Ozark, left this world on July 31, 2026. Born on May 3, 1962, in Springfield, she was the cherished daughter of Basil Ray and Genevieve Irene (Lawrence) Garland.

From her early days at Mound Baptist Church where she was saved, to her baptism at Ozark General Baptist Church, Punk embraced her faith wholeheartedly. Her journey in life included work at Hagale Industries. She made delicious doughnuts and pizzas at Casey's and Pizza Hut. She had a knack for crafting the perfect dough and delighted in sharing her culinary talents.

A woman of many passions, Punk loved the thrill of gambling and scratch-off tickets. Her caring nature shone brightly in her dedication to Annabelle Combs and Norma Cross. She indulged her adventurous spirit with travels and cruises, often returning to her kitchen to cook memorable meals.

Punk's legacy lives on in her family: her mother, Genevieve Garland of Ozark; her children, Jeremy Joe Applegate of Dogwood, and Tonya Lynn Blevins with her husband Jared of Taneyville. Her grandchildren, Skylar Winslow, Rosalee Raye Applegate, and Hailey Blevins, along with her great-grandson Michael Gregg, will carry forward her cherished memory. She is also survived by her sisters, JaDonna Rice with her husband Wayne, and Melinda Roller, all of Ozark.

Punk was preceded in death by her father, Basil Garland, and an infant brother, Keith Ray Garland.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Reverend Gary Jennings and Ken Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Dogwood Cemetery, Ava. 

Visitation will be from noon until 1:00 p.m. immediately before the funeral at the funeral home.
