Carolyn Ruth Davidson

b. Mar 25, 1948

Carolyn Ruth Davidson, age 78, of Nixa, gently departed this earth, leaving behind a legacy of love and melody. Born on March 25, 1948, in Waukegan, Illinois, she was the cherished daughter of Roy and Ethel Knapp.

On July 26, 1968, Carolyn joined her life with Dan Davidson, beginning a harmonious journey that spanned decades. Her passion for music illuminated her career as a dedicated music teacher at a private school and enriched her contributions to the musical life of her church community. Her sweet spirit and her desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus impacted many.

She delighted in sharing her love for music and was invariably active in nurturing youth music programs.

Carolyn was most recently a member of Crimson Avenue Baptist Church in Nixa.

Her husband, Dan Davidson, survives her, alongside her children Elizabeth Anne Thomas (and husband Matt), Stephen Paul Davidson (and wife April), and Judith Anne Moffitt (and husband Jon). Carolyn was the beloved grandmother of Emma, Elli, and Abby Thomas; Charis, Titus, Jane, and Knox Moffitt; and Jake Preciado and Troy and Max Davidson.

Carolyn will also be dearly missed by her siblings, Linda Murdock, Alice Marie Haney, and Betty Rowley, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Joyce Nelson and Mary Witt, Carolyn's legacy endures through the memories and music she imparted to those around her.

We will gather to honor Carolyn’s graceful life with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14 at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa, with Pastor Derek Eckels officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Nixa.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be held immediately before the service at the funeral home. Carolyn’s memory will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her.
