Caroline Helen Garner

Caroline Helen Garner, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved her. She was born June 19, 1950, to Rudolph and Helen Janoka.

Caroline was a devoted Catholic whose faith was an important part of her life. She attended Catholic schools before continuing her education at numerous institutions, ultimately earning her doctorate in psychology. She was a professor of psychology at SMSU, now Missouri State University, where she shared her knowledge and passion for psychology with her students. She also worked as a psychologist at the Federal Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri, before eventually entering private practice, where she continued serving others in the later years of her career.

For the past 15 years, Caroline shared her life with her significant other, Jerry Ledford, whom she loved dearly. Their years together were filled with companionship, love, and devotion.

Caroline was exceptionally intelligent and had a remarkable ability to learn. She was an avid reader and a speed reader, and she was a master at taking tests. Beyond her intellect, Caroline was known for her wonderful personality, quick mind, and ability to make those around her feel welcome.

She found joy in the beauty around her, especially flowers and decorative trees, which she loved incorporating into her home. Her Catholic faith remained a source of great pride throughout her life, and she faithfully supported her church.

Caroline is survived by her beloved significant other, Jerry Ledford; her brother, Rich Janoka; and her grandson, Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janette, and her parents, Rudolph and Helen Janoka.

Caroline will be remembered for her brilliant mind, generous heart, strong faith, beautiful spirit, and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark and cremation rite will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
