Carole Gene Meek Hernandez, 84, passed into the arms of her Savior on May 10, 2026.
Carole was born was born October 11, 1941, to Paul and Lillian Meek in Kermit, Texas. She was saved in Jr. High school when a friend invited her to a Methodist revival in Monahans, Tx. Later, she attended Texas Tech University and worked afterwards in accounting.
She married John Hernandez in1973 in Borger, Texas. Carole served as an organist for Fellowship Baptist Church and she and John sang and ministered in prisons. She worked as an accountant for Phillips 66, retiring after 25 years of service.
In 2002, John and Carole moved to Ozark, Missouri, to be near grandkids and enjoy retirement. They loved participating in gospel music events in Branson, leading music at Fremont Hills Baptist Church, and attending the grandkid’s events. Carole was a member of the Utopia Club, serving the community in philanthropic fundraising. She leaves a legacy of faithfulness to God, and the essence of true southern grace and beauty.
Carole is preceded in death by Daughter, Sydney Lynn Hickerson; and John Hernandez, her Husband of 49 years. Survivors include daughter, Stacy Hulm and husband Nick, of Nixa; grandchildren, Dallas Hord and wife, Chelsea; Dalton Hord and wife, Ashley, Dylan Hord and wife Erin; and great grandchildren, Easton, Bristol, Nixon, Hendrik, Mickey, and Rocky.
Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Selmore Cemetery in Ozark, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fremont Hills Baptist Church, Ozark, Missouri.
