Brittany Michelle Clines

May 4, 1988 — September 11, 2023

Nixa

For 35 years, Britt blessed anyone who knew her with her remarkable intelligence, her intuitive understanding of others, her extraordinary empathy, and her devastating sarcasm.

Britt was a 2006 graduate of Ozark High School, where she excelled in literary arts and cursed mathmatics. Her first big girl job was at Marketplace Printing where her boss/second mom Shelly Goessmann mentored her and gave her wings to pursue her dream of living by the beach.  Shelly and her husband Gary were officallly Britt's other parents. It's likely they were also the fun parents.

Once in Florida, Britt worked first in graphic design where she met Kristin Hemphill.  Kristin and her son Jonah were Britt's Florida family, keeping her safe and joining her in occasional mischief. Britt loved them fiercely and took great care of them when she was able.

Her career took off and she went to work at Cushman & Wakefield. In 2017, she set a company record for cost savIngs on a multimillion dollar project. She succeeded wildly in a role she had no formal training for. Most importantly, her colleague Goyer Roberts became a treasured friend despite never living  near her.

At Cushman, Britt most enjoyed projects that involved Humana and she was brought to Humana in 2018. Humana challenged her and allowed her to make a difference in thousands of lives.  Her many, many colleagues loved her work ethic, professionalism, and her biting sarcasm.  They were her village and her family.

Two colleagues in particular, Cheryl Dingeldein and Kelly Sutton, mentored Britt, encouraged her, and kept her career on a rising trajectory.  Mostly, though, they loved and looked out for her as their own.  Kelly was also instrumental in Britt pursuing more education and working towards her MBA.

At the time of her death, Britt was a Clinical Strategy and Practice Lead, working to improve health care outcomes for seniors throughout the country.  She loved her work.

Her love for her work was far surpassed by her love for friends and family. The best example is the care she showed her father when he battled illness a few years ago.  Britt put her life on hold for months  to fly home repeatedly, sit at his bedside, and advocate for him.  It gave her such happiness that he is well today.

Britt was preceded in death by her brother Ben. She loved and understood him with all her being. Her grandfather Richard, who found redemption in his first grandchild, also preceded her.

Britt is survived by her mother and step-dad, Suzy and Kevin Whitworth; her father and step-mother, Mike and Tonya Clines; her grandparents Jerry & Joyce Clines and Lois Hayes. Her step-grandparents are Jerry and Karen Whitworth and Carl and Mona Kehn.

Also surviving Britt are step-sisters Katie Whitworth and  Kelsey Miller,  along with Kelsey's husband Chris and daughter Tatum. Britt and her step-sisters supported each other through a particularly difficult last 18 months. She loved them deeply.

In addition, many aunts and uncles survive her: Mark and Angie Patrick, Greg & Kelly Shoemaker,  Pat Hayes, and Tom and Katie Hayes. Her cousins include Brady & Abi Ghan  and their daughter Margo, Bailey Ghan; Connor, Emily, & Lauren Hayes;  Adam, Rachel & Olivia Shoemaker; and Hudson & Jude Hayes.

Britt is also survived by her dogs Remy "Beanie" Clines and Lulu "Scuba" Clines.  They will live out their days with Kevin, Suzy, and their doggo uncles.  Britt will live on in her perfect companions.

Britt was particularly close to Brady, Abi, and Bailey. They were lucky to spend much of the summer together going to the lake, buying ridiculous thrift store finds, and modeling Amazon's best wigs. Brady and Abi's daughter Margo was a source of pure joy for Britt.

Britt's longest friendship was with Shannon (Walter) Hruska. The Walters loved her as a daughter and Shannon's husband David became a treasured friend as well. The girls played dressup as six-year-olds, which came in handy when Britt was a bridesmaid in Shannon's wedding.

Three others who knew and loved Britt thoroughly and perfectly are Ty & Kate Worthington-Carroll and Jimmy McKown. Most of their adventures are too scandalous to share, but Britt & Jimmy were honored to be in Ty & Kate's fairytale wedding in a British castle.  Britt loved their daughter Poppy and once "flew halfway around the world to meet the most beautiful girl in the world."

Britt's greatest blessing in life was getting to help parent Zoey, the daughter of her former partner but forever friend Gregg McKenzie. Zoey's mother Ashley Holt became a wonderful friend and support to Britt.

Britt was at her best with Zozo, whether it was school dropoffs, doing Zo's makeup for recitals, or creating another episode of the "Britt and Zoey Show."  Her love for Zoey is perfect, unconditional, and unending.

Finally, Britt loved and protected her mom with all she had. They were partners in battle and each other's  biggest support. The two of them were loved and supported unfailingly by Kevin. Britt's love will sustain Kevin and Suzy.

Britt was, in simplest terms, the best there ever was.

No services are planned at this time, but celebrations will be held later.

Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory, Ozark.  Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
