Brenda Sue (Conn) Ward, 72, of Republic, Missouri, formerly of Nixa, passed away on September 16, 2025.

She was born on May 7, 1953, to Robert Lee Conn and Nona Alene (McCafferty) Conn. On June 8, 2002, Brenda married the love of her life, Leon Ward. Their marriage was filled with love and devotion.

Brenda was a proud and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured time with her family. She spent most of her life in Nixa, where she lovingly raised her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her home was always a gathering place filled with love and laughter. She shared a special, inseparable bond with her twin sister, Linda Blackwell, and adored her grandchildren dearly.

A 1971 graduate of Nixa High School, Brenda worked for many years in housekeeping at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Outgoing and strong, she enjoyed shopping, estate sales, and decorating—always excited to find a good bargain.

She is survived by her husband, Leon Ward; her children, Scott (Tawnia) Johns, Randy (Jill) Johns, Shellie (Sean Bond) Johns, and Doug (Lisa) Ward; her twin sister, Linda Blackwell; grandchildren Ty, Callie, Chayse, Hayden, Kysen, Xander, Xavier, Tyra, Mason, Maliah, Kaden, Kanon, Riley, Allen, and Austin; great-grandchildren Ezrah, Eniyah, Kinsley, Stella, and Evelyn Rose; and many nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joyce Jean Conn; her brother, Allen Conn; her brother-in-law, Steve Blackwell; and her great-grandchild, Elijah, who passed away at three months old.

She will be remembered for her strength, her love for family, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
