Bonna Jarecke

Bonna Dele Jarecke, age 95, of Ozark, passed away in her home Saturday, May 14, 2022.  She was born August 24, 1926 in Monett, the daughter of Clifford and Thelma (Shumate) Polley.  She was a graduate of Ozark High School, and attended Draughon's Business College in Springfield.  On June 12, 1946 she and Wesley Raymond Jarecke were united in marriage at her family farm in Ozark

Bonna was a stay-at-home mother who later worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses and eventually worked alongside her husband, Wesley, as a bookkeeper and pharmacy technician when they opened Jarecke Pharmacy in Monett.

They were school sweethearts starting when Wesley saved a seat for her on the school band bus.  They not only worked side-by-side but they had many fun-loving adventures during their 62 years of marriage, including traveling the US in their RV.

Bonna loved life to the fullest and never met a stranger.  She cherished Jesus, her family, and friends.  She was, and her family is so grateful for all those who gave her love and support in her later years--they became lovingly known as "Team Bonna".

Bonna was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley, on December 1, 2008, a son, Dennis Wesley Jarecke, Sr. as well as a brother and sister.

Survivors include: A daughter, Diane Scott and husband Jimmie of Ozark; a daughter-in-law, Iris Jarecke of Chicago; grandchildren, Alicia McMurry and husband Ty of Tempe, Arizona, Dennis Wesley Jarecke, Jr. and wife Susan of Lakewood, Ohio, Kera Nadler and husband Jason of Chalfont, Pennsylvania; great-grandchildren, Sara, Emily, Kiera, and Michael Jarecke, and Hayden and Ethan Nadler ; nieces, cousins and other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.  A graveside service will be held at Highlandville Cemetery 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 18, with Pastor Phillip Burden officiating.
