Bobbie Lee Edwards

June 10, 1941 — November 30, 2019

Bob Edwards, 78, of Nixa Missouri went to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, November 30, at his home surrounded by his family. Bob was born to Leoford and Ophelia Edwards on June 10, 1941 in Anderson, Missouri. Bob graduated from Neosho Missouri High School in 1959, where he also began his lifelong career as a Retail Grocery Manager. Bob managed the opening of all of the Ramey Supermarkets in Springfield and mentored many in furthering their careers in Retail Grocery Management. He was very respected and loved by those he employed. Bob was an active and founding member of the 24th State Relic Recovery Club where he made many friends through a love of metal detecting. He shared his love of this hobby with his children and grandchildren. They enjoyed many treasure hunts together. Bob loved fishing, boating and camping with his family and friends. With the help of his family, he was able to enjoy fishing and camping in the last few months of his life. Bob developed a love of music during his school years. He sang in many choirs and churches. His children have many memories of sitting at his feet while he played the guitar and sang songs that he loved. Another love in Bob's life was drag racing his "409" '62 Chevy Impala. For a time he held the #1 position at the old MO-KAN Speedway. He used his driving skills in teaching his children and grandchildren how to drive. He enjoyed telling stories of his racing years. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, June; parents, Leoford and Offie; sister, Peggy; brother, Leonard. Bob is survived by his brother, Larry; daughters, Deidra Lambert, Kerri Edwards and son, Steven Edwards from his first marriage to Sandra Chandler; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy, Kaylee, Tiffany and Jack; 4 step-granddaughters, Allison and Molly, Kayla and Kaitlyn; stepdaughter, Jeana Haussels-McGraw Bob will be missed by many, family and friends, but they rejoice in knowing that he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and they will meet again!
