On November 29, 1953, she and Harold Gene “Hap” Rainey were united in marriage. Betty worked as a telephone operator for over 30 years. She practiced her faith in all she did. She was a member of South Gate Baptist Church, where she loved her church family. Her family was very important in her life. Her children and grandchildren knew they were loved. As Matriarch of the family, holiday meals and celebrations were at her home, where she welcomed all. Survivors include: A son, Darold Rainey of Springfield; a daughter Lynette Weatherford and husband David of Nixa; three grandchildren, Callie, Lexi and Bryson; a brother Jerry Bolin and wife Linda of Nixa; other relatives; nieces and nephews. Her husband Harold Rainey preceded Betty in death in 2017. Also preceding her in death were her parents, and three sisters, Juanita Tennis, Ava Haworth, and Kathy Holland. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM Thursday, September 2, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A graveside service will follow at 4:30 PM Thursday, at Selmore Cemetery, Ozark.
