Beryl Gratts, born on April 4, 1932, in Taloga, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, in Ozark, Missouri, at the age of 93.
Beryl's life was a tapestry of rich experiences and cherished memories. Growing up during the Great Depression, she developed a resilience and strength that guided her throughout her life. Her commitment to family, work ethic, faith, and morals were hallmarks of her character, and they left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
She traveled extensively throughout the United States, gathering stories from each journey that she loved to share with family and friends. Her early years included living in Germany at the end of World War II, where her husband was stationed—a chapter of her life that added depth to her wealth of experiences.
Beryl's professional life saw her contributing to various beauty supply companies, and in later years, she extended her skills to roles at Walgreens and Hallmark. Outside of work, she pursued her passions as an avid sailor, pilot, and equestrian, demonstrating her adventurous spirit and zest for life.
Preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life and with whom she had so many adventures, Milford (French) Gratts who served as a lieutenant with the 247th bomb squadron during WWII, her son Robert Eckles, her daughter Karen Schoonover. Beryl leaves behind a loving family who will remember her fondly. She is survived by her son Lynne Bernstein, grandson Nicholas Schoonover, granddaughter Katrina Bernstein, grandson Clem Bernstein, great-grandson Zander Sabo, and stepson Gary Gratts.
With her passing, the world has lost a remarkable woman who lived life fully and loved deeply. Her stories, wisdom, and spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Beryl Gratts will be sorely missed, but her legacy of love and strength will endure.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral home and cremation rites are accorded to Adams Crematory.
