Barbara Kent Whitworth

On July 19, 2022, Barbara Kent Stiles Whitworth , while surrounded by her loving family, slipped the bonds of earth and joined her loved ones in Heaven.

Barbara was born on February 26, 1935 in Eugene, Oregon to George and Edna Stiles who preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Parker Gene Whitworth, her oldest daughter Terri Bailey, her second daughter Jeanne Whitworth Stevens, her son Parker Gene Whitworth Jr. (Whit), and her grandson Samuel Kent Bailey.

She is survived by her daughter Sherri Whitworth Riddle ( Gerry) of Nixa, Mo, son in law Terry Wade Bailey of Spanish Fort, Al, son in law Jacky Stevens of Eldorado Ar. And 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Barbara graduated from Oregon State University with a Masters Degree in Social Work and a secondary degree in education. Upon graduation, she worked in a US Army medical facility where she met and married the love of her life, Parker Gene Whitworth.

Parker and Barbara moved to Mississippi where she became a longtime employee of the State of Mississippi.

Upon her retirement, she and Parker moved to Springfield Missouri to live near their daughter, Sherri Riddle. Upon Parker’s death Barbara returned to work at Price Cutter, Walmart, and subsequently retired from People’s Bank of Nixa, Mo. Where ever she worked her enthusiasm for Customer Service made her a positive asset.

Barbara’s family is grateful for the loving support and prayers as she made the transition from this world to that land far beyond the sky.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Adams Funeral Home in Nixa, Mo.

Memorial service will be held July 22, 2022 at Nixa General Baptist Church. Visitation at 6:00pm with services at 6:30pm officiated by Reverend Hosea Bilyeu, and Eulogy by Terry Bailey.
