Barbara Hawkins

November 13, 1937 — June 15, 2022

Barbara Hawkins passed away June 15, 2022 at The Fremont in Springfield, where she had been a care resident for the past several years.

 

Barbara was born November 13, 1937 in Ozark, Missouri, the daughter of Dwight and Celo Hawkins.  She attended Ozark School and graduated in the Class of 1955.  After graduation Barbara attended Stephens College in Columbia.  She then settled in Springfield, where she lived for the rest of her life.  Barbara worked for Harry Cooper Supply company as a secretary/receptionist for twenty-nine years. 

 

She was a long-time member of Central Christian Church in Springfield.

 

Barbara is survived by two younger sisters and their families: Judith Farmer and husband Larry of Springfield, and family which is Joseph Greene and wife Carol, John Greene and wife Nicole, Jennifer Samsel and husband Scott, and their children and grandchildren; Patricia Michel and husband Al of Nixa, and family, which is Jason Michel and wife Sherry, and Laura Mayfield and husband Elton, and their children and grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be 2:00 – 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.  Private  burial will follow in Ozark City Cemetery, with Kent Davis officiating. 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society.
