In Loving Memory of Barbara Faye (Edmonson) Castleberry
With deep sorrow, the family of Barbara Castleberry announces her passing on July 30th.
Barbara was born on March 25, 1934, to Oliver Edmonson and Judy Speight. She shared 25 cherished years of marriage with the love of her life, Morris Dale Castleberry.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Sandy (Larry), Dale (Debra), and Calvin (Kathy); her grandchildren: Zack (Amber), Taylor (Ian), and Levi (Sophia); and her great-grandchildren: Birdie, Kennedy, and Poppy. Barbara held a special place in her heart for Nita Jackson (Mike), whom she loved as a daughter rather than a sister-in-law. She was also deeply loved by her brother David, her cousin Donna, and a large circle of extended family and close friends.
A vibrant, hardworking woman, Barbara proudly owned and operated the Riverview Flea Market for over 20 years. She embraced life as a devoted mother, successful small business owner, and adventurous traveler—selling clothing and jewelry, a career she truly enjoyed. Of all the roles she played, being a mother, grandmother (“Memaw”), and great-grandmother brought her the greatest joy.
The family is especially grateful for the compassionate care Barbara received at Bradford Assisted Living in Nixa. Her bond with the staff, particularly activities director Natasha Johnson, brought her much comfort and happiness.
Barbara had a distinctive sense of style and delighted in choosing her outfits each day—especially during her time at Bradford. A true fashionista, she radiated warmth, humor, and grace.
She touched countless lives with her kindness and spirit, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory and arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
